Visakhapatnam: Director General of Police (DGP) N Sambasiva Rao offered a rare reward to the tribal people of the Maoist-influenced Balapam panchayat of Chintapalli mandal in Visakha Agency. The tribals can avail free travel facility in RTC bus service from Annavaram hamlet to Mulagaruvu covering a distance of 10 km.

Bus service from Annavaram hamlet to Mulagaruvu is free of cost to tribals of the area

With this unique reward, the tribals in these areas can travel in bus free of charge and the reward came into effect immediately. The DGP along with other senior officials has recently conducted an aerial survey in AOB and the Maoist-infested areas in Visakha Agency, as a part of action plan to suppress the Maoist activity.

During his aerial survey, the DGP, who visited AR police outpost at Rallagedda in the Balapam panchayat limits, was surprised to see an RTC service coming to an interior area of Mulakotturu. Overjoyed with the bus service to the most interior areas in the Agency, the DGP immediately presented a cash award of Rs 4,000 to the driver and conductor.

Chintapalli DSP Anil, who accompanied the DGP said that the DGP has a strong commitment to do something favour to the poor tribals. He said that the DGP has passed the orders that the police department would bear the travel expenditure of the tribals from Annavaram to Mulagaruvu.
