Commissioner of Police (CP) Damodar Gautam Sawang said that police department conducted counseling to 456 eve teasers including 75 minors, 207 students, 38 private employees, 205 daily workers and six government employees in the city with the support of VMM members from January 25 onwards. Mahila Rakshak teams had arrested the eve teasers at different places in Vijayawada city to prevent eve teasing of women and girl students.

In a press release here on Monday, CP said that police department registered few cases on eve teasers in Vijayawada city. He mentioned that the police officials guided the eve teasers for starting new activities in their life for improving themselves and leading their families towards success path.

He said that as per Sexual Harassment in Working Place Act 2013, all organisations and colleges must appoint Internal Complaint Committee at work places and colleges where more than 10 women are working in an organisation. “All sections of people must support Mahila Rakshak Teams to extend their services to other districts for preventing eve teasing on women and girl students in the state" he added.

CP mentioned that the people must inform the police officials over illegal activities in their limits through the Dial 100 and 4thlion App for preventing banned activities in the city.
