Several leaders, who have attended the plenary meeting, including YSRCP district president Gouru Venkata Reddy, MLC Gangula Prabhakar Reddy and state vice-president BY Ramaiah have supported the candidature of Raja Gopal Reddy. Raja Gopal Reddy, who was less known to people, has been drawing attention from the voters of Kurnool district with the announcement of his candidature for Nandyal by-poll at plenary.

Prior to Raja Gopal Reddy’s announcement, Gangula Pratap Reddy, brother of present MLC Gangula Prabhakar Reddy, has tried his best to get YSRCP ticket for Nandyal by-poll. Speaking to The Hans India, Gouru Venkata Reddy said that Raja Gopal Reddy’s candidature was accepted by all the leaders. “We will support his candidature to by-election. But, party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has to give his consent,” he stated.

On the other hand, the TDP yet declare its candidate as several leaders are aspiring for the ticket. Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya is reportedly asking the party high command to give Nandyal ticket to her family members. Either it may be her sister, Naga Mounika Reddy or her brother Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy.Even, former Minister Silpa Mohan Reddy is also seeking the ticket. Sajjala Sreedhar Reddy, son-in-law of SPY Reddy, is keen to contest for Nandyal by-poll.
