Srikakulam: The TDP government is neglecting the construction of proposed road-bridge across the Nagavali River at Balasalarevu in Santhakaviti mandal, alleged CPI national secretary K Narayana.

He participated in the agitation launched by the local people under the aegis of CPI at Balasalarevu on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, he reminded that in 1999 the then TDP government had assured and proposed road bridge across the river at an estimated cost of Rs 9 crore and issued the GO No. 154 at that time.

Later, the TDP and the Congress governments had failed to construct the bridge, he lamented. Ha made scathing remarks against former minister and YSRCP leader Tammineni Sitaram, former Speaker Kavali Pratibha Bharathi and Government Whip Kuna Ravi Kumar for neglecting the bridge which would be useful to people of 50 villages in five mandals Santhakaviti, Ponduru, Amudalavalasa, G Sigadam and Rajam.

Narayana appealed to people to intensify their fight for road bridge by detaining segment level leaders. CPI district secretary Chapara Sunder Lal, leaders of the movement G Narayana Rao and G Saraswathi Rao also spoke.
