There are 432 mechanised boats with a crew strength of 3,456 with six for each boat and 3,612 motored boats with a crew strength of 21, 672 with six crew members per each boat.

Kakinada: The fishermen of East Godavari after lay-off for 61 days due to the imposed fishing ban started venturing into the sea from Wednesday. The ban was imposed from April 15 to June 14 . There are 432 mechanised boats with a crew strength of 3,456 with six for each boat and 3,612 motored boats with a crew strength of 21, 672 with six crew members per each boat.

Each of the fishermen was entitled to get Rs 4,000 for the ban period. The fishermen from the 21 jetties in East Godavari started venturing into the sea from Wednesday in mechanised and motored boats. One of the crew members of a motored boat Pemmadi Srinu of Aminabad in U- Kothapalli mandal said that they are hoping for good catch as they are entering into the sea after a ban period of two months.
