Converting 318 Anganwadi centres into pre-schools
Minister for Women and Child welfare Paritala Sunitha has revealed that 318 Anganwadi centres in the district are being converted into English medium pre-schools on par with private English medium schools.
Hindupur (Anantapur): Minister for Women and Child welfare Paritala Sunitha has revealed that 318 Anganwadi centres in the district are being converted into English medium pre-schools on par with private English medium schools.
Participating in the inauguration of an English medium pre-school comprising of LKG and UKG in the Model Colony in the town along with MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna here on Friday, Sunitha said that 84 Anganwadis have been condensed to 52 centres in the town. She assured that these centres would be imparting quality education.
She said that under the Anna Amrutha Hastham scheme, complete meal is being provided to pregnant women. Another nutrition programme is being launched from August 1st for children in the age group of 7 months to 3 years. MLA Balakrishna was also present along with Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas.
