Tirupati: TTD authorities have responded at last and agreed to sanction Rs 2 lakh to the family members of Kota Padmanabham, who died on Sunday after battling for life for 98 days, while in coma. He was allegedly beaten up by the TTD security guards near Mahadwaram. when he mistakenly entered women’s queue line on March 20.

The family members of the pilgrim protested against TTD demanding justice as they lost their major bread winner.
Lok Satta state general secretary Balasubramanyam and Congress women’s wing district president Sridevi along with their followers expressed their solidarity to the bereaved family and demanded the TTD to come forward and do justice to them.

The family members demanded a job to Padmanabham’s son and compensation of Rs 25 lakhs. TTD JEO P Bhaskar, who spoke with them, said that it was not possible to give job to Padmanabham’s son but maintained that as the deceased was a government employee, his son would get a job on compassionate grounds.

TTD will also provide vehicle to take the body to their native place and a room in Madhava Nilayam in Tirupati for the stay of his family members till the leave Tirupati after post mortem is completed on Tuesday.

Padmanabham’s son Ramachandra Rao said that the JEO also directed them to meet the endowment minister with a representation and after due enquiry he may be in a position to extend financial assistance from the government.
