Vehicle with 21 red sanders logs seized
Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) on Sunday seized a goods vehicle with 21 red sanders logs near the forest fringe area near Grand World Hotel in the pilgrim city.A RSASTF team led by RSI Vijay along with deputy forest range officer (DyRO) Srinivas took up searches in the forest fringe area near the Grand World Hotel.

This is one of the (forest) exit points the smugglers frequently use for illegal transportation to Tamil Nadu. In the early hours of Sunday,the team found a goods vehicle parked in a desolated place and a group of men suspected as smugglers standing around the vehicle. Even as the task force personnel neared the vehicle, the smugglers ran back into forest and escaped taking advantage of darkness. In the search of the vehicle, the task force personnel found 21 good quality red sanders.
