State committed to honing skills of youth, says Mayor

On the eve of World Youth Skills Day event held at Dr Ambedkar Bhavan, the Mayor said, “Youth is the deciding factor of nation’s strength, future and prosperity. Their skills should be used in a systematic manner by guiding them in proper direction. The government has to explore the possibilities for availing their services at all levels for the development of county.”

She said that many youths were addicted to bad vices and spoiling their career. She stressed the need for encouraging skills among youth by involving both private and public sector companies.

Joint Collector 2 Chandra Mouli said the government was encouraging youth by conducing job melas extensively in the district. He appealed to youth to avail the government schemes meant for their uplift.

RDA Project Director Ravi Prakash Reddy said that over one lakh youth from the district would be identified and ensure them better opportunities to prove their skills. District Collector has already instructed the District Employment Officer to submit the list of skilled candidates who have registered in the employment exchange.

Skilled youth would be given training in different faculties and use their services in an effective manner There are ample opportunities for skilled youth to prove their mite in various fields like automobiles, industries, scientific and business field.

The DRDA is implementing various schemes for uplifting skilled youth, he added. Indian Bank lead manager Rama Mohana Rao explained the schemes being introduced in the district for development of youth. He said the skill development programmes conducted in the district earlier received good response. TDP leader Rajeswari and Chittoor Municipal Commissioner Balasubramanyam were present.
