Tirupati: YSRCP leader and Nagari MLA RK Roja lambasted the state government for harassing its employees regarding service matters. Addressing the media in Tirupati on Saturday, she said, it is unfortunate that the government was pushing the employees to perform well or face termination.

The YSRCP MLA says the drug abuse investigations should be done in secret, wants officials to exercise restraint

She said the government employees especially those aged above 50 were worrying about their families in case they are removed from their jobs in the name of non-performance.

She added that there were talks of reducing the service duration of employees. What about the Chief Minister who has completed 40 years of service in politics, she asked. She criticised the government for giving such a treatment to the employees instead of fulfilling the promises made to them before elections. The government should first fill 1.40 lakh posts across the state, reducing the workload on the employees.

On Nandyal by elections, Roja observed that TDP should take back its statements on traditions to be followed during by-elections as it was YSRCP candidate who won the Nandyal seat in 2014.

She demanded that all the 21 persons who shifted their loyalties to the ruling party should resign first and seek fresh mandate. “The ministers were misleading the people of Nandyal. They are scared of defeat there and making statements to target the caste groups”, she alleged.

The state government should step up vigil and see that students and youth do not fall prey to the drug menace, said Roja. Saying that the guilty should be punished, she observed that the questioning the accused should be done in a secretive manner. The investigating authorities should exercise some restraint, she averred.
