The big cat hid in the corn field of village sarpanch Ramanamma. Earlier, it preyed on four cows belonging to a poor woman Lalitamma of the village.

The footprints of the tiger are found in the fields on the village outskirts. The villagers are living in the grip of fear. Forest ranger Sankaraiah confirmed that the tiger is on the loose. The villagers said that the tiger moved towards Gosaikatta tank in Nagaluti.

The tiger is frequenting the village outskirts, especially after it was dark. The villagers urged the forest officials to take steps to chase it away deep into the jungles.
