In a tragic road accident, a mini bus collided with a truck in Chittoor district on Saturday resulting in the death of four tourists from Spain and the driver.

Six other Spanish nationals suffered injuries, one of them is in a critical condition. Police informed that the Spanish nationals had come to see development activities by the Rural Development Trust run by a group from Spain taking place in Anantapuramu district.

11 people were in the bus including the driver and the accident took place when the driver of the container truck lost control while taking a curve, colliding with the mini-bus. Five of them instantly died on the spot while the injured were rushed to the Columbia-Asia Hospital in Bengaluru for treatment.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the incident and directed the collector to contact the Spanish embassy in New Delhi regarding the details of the victims and make necessary arrangements to shift the bodies.
