The President of India Ram Nath Kovind along with his family and entourage offered prayers in the temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala on Saturday.

The first citizen of India who was on a two-day maiden visit to Tirumala followed the temple tradition. He first offered prayers in Bhu Varaha Swamy temple located adjacent to Swami Pushkarini and later reached Tirumala temple.
On his arrival at Mahadwaram along with Governor ESL Narasimhan and CM N Chandrababu Naidu, he was welcomed by TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal, Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju and CVSO A Ravikrishna while the Veda pundits offered IsthikaphalSwagatham to the first citizen of the country with temple honours. Later he offered prayers in front of Lord Venkateswara along with his spouse Savita Kovind, son Prasanth Kumar and daughter Swati.
One of the chief priests of the temple Dr AV Ramana Dikshitulu explained to the president the importance of jewels and of the presiding deity.
Afterwards at Ranganayakula Mandapam, Vedasirvachanam was rendered and teerthaprasadams, lamination photo of Lord and SeshaVastram were presented to the President by TTD EO. On the occasion of the President’s arrival to Srivari Temple police officials made unprecedented security arrangements in Tirumala hill shrine.
From SPG guest house to Srivari temple all roads were deserted. Police closed down the shops both sides of the road along the President’s vehicle convoy route. From Tirumala president of India Ramnath Kovind proceeded to Tirupati international airport. Later the President along with his family proceeded to New Delhi by Air Force special aircraft. President of India was given warm send off by Governor and CM at the airport.

collector PS Pradyumna, DGP N Sambasiva Rao, Tirupati Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty were present.
