A first of its kind in the State, the Chittoor District Cooperative Central Bank has sanctioned over Rs 1 crore for installing CCTV surveillance system in Kuppam town with an objective of ensuring foolproof security for the dignitaries who pay a visit to Kuppam frequently.

Under the CCTV Surveillance System, all the 86 cameras are being connected to a Command Control Centre situated at the office of Circle-Inspector of Police , which is being monitored by some special trained police personnel round-the-clock.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has complimented DCCB Chairman A Rajasekhara Reddy for showing interst in keeping Kuppam town free from criminals.
Because of installing CCTV cameras, the police officers felt that no untoward incident would take place even during the visit of Chief Minister to Kuppam.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, DCCB chairman Rajashekar Reddy said the bank was aimed to meet the financial needs of customers and it has also made a big contribution to the Andhra Pradesh government as a social service responsibility.
During the stint of former Chief Ministers YS Rajasekhara Reddy, K Rosaiah and N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the bank has donated Rs 10 lakh each for extending help to victims of natural calamities. After bifurcation of the State, the Bank has donated Rs 1 crore for the construction of capital city Amaravati as part of its social responsibility to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
On the same lines, the bank felt it was an ideal and responsible job to ensure the protection for top boss of State in Kuppam and sanctioned Rs 96 lakh for implementing CCTV surveillance system at Kuppam.
He said that Kuppam Single Window, a DCCB wing has taken over the responsibility for bearing the maintenance cost of scheme. It is a combined effort of then Chittoor SP G Srinivas and the present DCCB Chairman A Rajasekhara Reddy for keeping Kuppam under security check or security zone.
