Kurnool: ASHA workers, under the banner of the CITU, from all over the district protested in front of the Collectorate here on Monday, demanding payment of minimum wage of Rs 6000 a month.

They said that they have been awaiting payment of Rs 6,000 per month as minimum wages for the past three years, but to no avail. They pointed out that the TDP promised to increase their wages to Rs 6,000 prior to elections and later ignored it conveniently.

They pointed out that their counterparts in Telangana are receiving Rs 6,000 as minimum wage, they said adding that Andhra Pradesh seems to have no plan to implement the poll promise.
