Vijayawada: United Forum for Quranic Studies (UFQS) is conducting Quaran verses and quotes recitation competitions from December 31 to February 18 in the state to encourage children to study and recite the Quaranic verses and quotations.

Competitions will be conducted in five groups and prizes will be distributed to the winners. Addressing a media conference here on Friday, Chairman of UFQS Md Dawood said the interested participants can download applications online from website www.ufqs.org and send their applications.

He said information can be had from e mail [email protected] and cell number 98481 51012, 9392972959. Md Dawood said children below 12 years of age can participate in the state-level competitions in both coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts.

He announced the finals will be held on February 18 at Automobiles Technicians Hall, Auto Nagar Vijayawada. He informed that nearly 20,000 children participated from 150 areas of the state in three years in the competitions conducted by UFQS and appealed the parents to encourage their children to make them participate in the event.

He said the first prize for every category is Rs 20,000, second prize Rs 15,000 and third prize Rs 10,000. He said winners of five categories will get prizes. Dawood with other organisers released a wall poster at a press conference here on Friday.
