Veteran Sailors Forum meet held
As part of Navy Day celebrations, the general body meeting of Veteran Sailors’ Forum (VSF), Visakhapatnam Charter was held at ENC Sailors Institute on Sunday night.
Visakhapatnam: As part of Navy Day celebrations, the general body meeting of Veteran Sailors’ Forum (VSF), Visakhapatnam Charter was held at ENC Sailors Institute on Sunday night. The meeting was coordinated by Command Regimental System Officer (CRSO) and chaired by Chief Staff Officer (Personnel and Administration), ENC Rear Admiral Deepak Kapoor.
General Body Council members, Navy Pension Cell, ECHS, ZSWO and 600 veterans attended the meeting. During the meeting, various welfare schemes of Navy for veterans and widows were reviewed and new issues brought out by the veterans were discussed.
Over the years, the Indian Navy has taken several steps to fulfil its obligation towards its veterans. To promote their cause, a Veteran Sailor’s Forum comprising naval ex-servicemen, widows and their next of kin was established in April 2008.
The Visakhapatnam Charter provides a platform for dissemination of information relating to opportunities for VSF members residing in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, NE States, Odissa, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal.
