Left leaders protest attacks on Dalits, stage protest
Protesting the arrest of left party leaders, CPI(M) and CITUC labour unions staged a dharna at Repalle town here in the district on Saturday.
Guntur: Protesting the arrest of left party leaders, CPI(M) and CITUC labour unions staged a dharna at Repalle town here in the district on Saturday.
The leaders and labour union workers staged a protest programme by tying with a black ribbon. Later, the leaders submitted a memorandum to BR Ambedkar statue.
Repalle division secretary Manilal alleged that the attacks on Dalits are on the rise in the state. Apart from the attacks, the state government is preventing the leaders from meeting the victims and their family members.
The leaders also found fault with the police imposing 144 Section at the left party office in the town. The left leaders urged all the people's organisations and Dalit associations to equivocally condemn the attacks on Dalits.
