Supply water to save rabi crop: Collector
West Godavari collector K Bhaskar directed the officials to supply irrigation water to save the rabi crop in the district. Presided over the review meeting on ‘Priority sectors progress’ at the Collectorate here on Wednesday, Bhaskar said the farmers were lifting water from Eluru Godavari canal by using pipes and motors.

“If this continued, the tail-end farmers will face trouble to fetch water to their crops.” He directed the officials to implement rotation system without any deviation to supply water to rabi crop. Otherwise, the officials would face severe action, he warned.
He also directed the water resources department officials to monitor the supply of water and see no fish ponds use the water. If such incidents took place those fish ponds would be dismantled, he warned.
