With a view to empower the women work force in railways and boost their morale and self-confidence, South Central Railway took initiative to make Ramavarappadu railway station in Vijayawada division, an ‘All Women Station’ by deploying women staff to handle all the day to day activities, including train operations, ticketing, security and other relevant duties. 

Vijayawada: With a view to empower the women work force in railways and boost their morale and self-confidence, South Central Railway took initiative to make Ramavarappadu railway station in Vijayawada division, an ‘All Women Station’ by deploying women staff to handle all the day to day activities, including train operations, ticketing, security and other relevant duties.

Ramavarappadu will become the first all-women railway station out of 161 railway stations in Vijayawada division from March 17. At Ramavarappadu railway station, the women staff comprising one station superintendent, three station masters, two points women and three women railway protection force constables in security wing.
