Early disbursal of farm loans sought
District Collector PS Pradyumna asked the bankers to disburse agricultural loans before cultivation season starts. Addressing the bankers at a meeting here on Monday, the Collector informed them to achieve 100 per cent target under annual loan plan given by state-level bankers committee to the district bankers committee before March 31.

During 2017-18, out of annual loan plan target of Rs 12,053 crore, the district has achieved Rs 11,419 crore which accounts for 94 per cent and the remaining six per cent should be completed before this financial year ends, he stated.
Pradyumna asked the bankers to think on humanitarian grounds and provide loans to farmers during the time of cultivation itself, which will be of great help to them. He said that district stood on top in providing ‘Stand Up India’ loans and congratulated the bankers.
