Participating in the free eye check-up camp organised for drivers at the Deputy Transport Commissioner Office, P Srinivas appealed to all the drivers to get their eyes checked once in six months.

He said that the transport department was organising many awareness programmes which resulted in minimising the number of road accidents. He said that most of the bike riders were feeling it inconvenience to put on helmet which was the main reason for fatal accidents.

"Many bike riders wear helmets when the police or the transport department are checking. He appealed to everyone to feel responsibility to follow traffic rules. He recalled that everyone wears seat belts in foreign countries while driving cars.

Deputy Transport Commissioner Meera Prasad said that with the help of Sankar Netralaya and Nagarjuna Hospitals, free eye check-up, BP, Sugar and general check-up camp was organised for drivers and free medicines were distributed.

District Medical and Health Officer T Padmaja Rani, RTOs B Vijayalakshmi, S Venkateswara Rao, T Rammohan Rao and others were present.
