Nellore: The ACB sleuths caught a VRO red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a farmer at Nidigallu village of Balayapalli mandal on Monday for entering land records online.

According to the ACB DSP Parameswar Reddy, VRO J Chandramouli has been working at Nidigallu village. M Dhanaiah from the same village had applied for making entries of lands records online and appealed to the VRO for making web land entries of his wife M Jayalakshmi.

She is having agriculture land of 2 acres for which Pattadar passbook was issued in 2011. Chandramouli had demanded Rs 20,000 from the farmer for making entries. Dhanaiah approached the ACB officials and handed over Rs 20,000 as per directions at Nidigallu village.

ACB officials conducted chemical tests and yielded positive results. They seized cash and records from the VRO and took him into custody.
