Guntur Municipal Corporation revenue inspector suspended

A revenue inspector working in the Guntur Municipal Corporation G Ranga Reddy was placed under suspension on corruption allegations. GMC Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar issued orders to this effect. Suspended bill collector Ranga Reddy demanded Rs 10,000 for imposing tax on encroached lands. He allegedly demanded a bribe from 350 encroachers for imposing tax.

The encroachers complained to GMC Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar. Based on a complaint, the GMC Commissioner conducted inquiry and suspended the RI. Earlier, he worked in Nallapadu Pachayat, after the merger of the panchayat with the GMC, Ranga Raeddy got posting in the GMC. Since then, he is continuing in the GMC.
