The ACB sleuths caught Deputy Executive Engineer DEE S Nageswara Rao, working in the Information and Public Relations IPR department, redhanded while accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from the complainant on Friday
Chittoor: The ACB sleuths caught Deputy Executive Engineer (DEE) S Nageswara Rao, working in the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) department, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from the complainant on Friday.
According to Tirupati Additional SP (ACB) Tirumaleswara Reddy, Praveen, a resident of Puthalapattu mandal, had entered into an agreement with the I&PR department for making a short film on developmental activities in various mandals for Rs 45,000. As per the agreement, Praveen had submitted the short film to the DEE and requested him to pass the bill.
But, Nageswara Rao demanded a bribe of Rs 8,000 to clear the bill of short film. The ACB took DEE into the custody. It may be mentioned here that higher officials received several complaints against Nageswara Rao in the past.
