Vijayawada: The 23rd Telugu comedy playlet competitions will be held from July 27 to 29 at Sidhartha Auditorium here, announced S Narasaraju, president of Sumadhura Kalaniketan.
Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, he said that Sumadhura Kalaniketan was promoting art and culture in the capital city of Andhra Pradesh for the last 45 years.
Narasaraju further said many eminent personalities in different art fields were honored by Sumadhura Kalaniketan during these four-and-a-half decades.
He said this year, Sumadhura is honoring P Prasad, stage and movie artiste with Kabirdas award and T Srilakshmi will be felicitated with Radha Kumari Award. Veteran stage artiste and director Satyanand was selected for the prestigious Jandhyala award.
Briefing details of playlets selected for staging during the three days, Dr N Murali Krishna, Parishad chairman said “Dippam”, “Aa Korika Teeredela” and “Maa Avida Bangaram” will be staged on Friday.
“Delhi Mamayya”, “Dochevarevarule” and “Tikka Kudirindi … yedavalaki” will be performed on Saturday and on final day “Aada Kattera” and “Anta Maru Taru” will be staged.
He also added an exhibition of playlet “Guruvu Bhangam”, a mythological will also be performed by the students of Sri Durga Malleswara Sidhartha Mahila Kalasala, Vijayawada.
Dr MC Das, Advisor, Sumadhura Kala Niketan expressed gratitude to Sidhartha Kala Peetham and also department of culture, Andhra Pradesh for extending their help.
P Vijaya Bhaskara Sarma, P Suryanarayana Murthy and others were also present.
