Gudivada: Municipal Commissioner Dr A Samuel said that more saplings would be planted as part of Vanam-Manam programme to make Guidvada a green town.
Along with ACB DSP Prasad and inspectors D Venkateswara Rao and Kennedy, he planted saplings on both the sides of Betavolu Boyina Nagaiah Road in the town on Thursday.
Addressing a meeting held in this connection, the municipal commissioner said that 560 saplings of various varieties Pogada, Ganuga and Neem and others were planted to make the town green. He said that the sanitary workers have been working hard by removing garbage regularly in the limits of the municipality.
Dr Samuel said that garbage both wet and dry is being collected from every home to make the town pollution-free. Several municipal officials and the citizens participated in the programme.
