Saplings distributed on Friendship Day

Vijayawada: Vaitla Krishna Prasanna, president of Vivekananda Youth Trust has said that by saving the nature and trees we can give good environment to the coming generations.

The trust members celebrated Friendship Day in a unique way by distributing saplings to motorists near Benz Circle here on Sunday.

He said that about 10,000 saplings were distributed across the city on the occasion.

The volunteers of Vivekananda Youth Trust tied a band to the motorists travelling on either side of the roads and then presented plants to them to mark the occasion.

Then they formed a human chain at the circle with a plant keeping on their head. They distributed about 700 plants to the motorists and pedestrians.
