Vizianagaram: Truck and lorry owners participated in strike and alleged that the Union government was imposing curbs on them. Auto drivers also took part in the strike. As a result, the wholesale market here and Parvathipuram was closed.

Traders were forced to shut down their shops at PWD Market here. After Vijayawada, the second biggest lorry industry was located at Salur in the district and 600 lorries from this town did not come on to the roads as a mark of protest. Parents of the school students made alternative arrangements as their autoes did not come to pick them up.
