Transport dept collects Rs 18 lakh penalty in Guntur district

Guntur: Transport Department warned that vehicles engaged in the educational institutions should not use for marriage and other functions.

Using of educational institutions’ vehicles for other purpose is violation of rules.

Deputy Transport Commissioner Rajaratnam said that the officials conducted checks and booking cases against such vehicles for violation of rules.

He warned that they would impose penalty on such vehicles and collect the same from the owners of the vehicles.

He said that during the last one year, they collected Rs 18 lakh penalty from such vehicles and instructed to collect bus fitness certificates from the department immediately.
