Tirupati: CITU senior leader Kandarapu Murali strongly opposed TTD sanctioning Rs 150 crore for the construction of the temple in Amaravati and wanted the government itself should take up the construction of the shrine if it is keen on to have a big temple in the capital city area.
Speaking to media here on Wednesday, Murali, who is the CITU district general secretary said that the TTD management ignoring the criticism that it has been splurging devotees money on many fancy projects involving huge cost, continuing it that was evident with sanctioning of Rs 150 crore for Amaravati temple construction.
He said the TTD Trust Board meeting held on Tuesday terribly disappointed the work force as it failed to respond the long pending demands of the about 14,500 outsourcing and contract employees working in TTD including hiking minimum wage.
The TTD management which is lamenting that it is constrained with funds crunch for taking up measures for devotees but readily obliging ruling party leaders including MLAs, Minister and others in taking up construction of temples and Kalyana mandapams at their request to please them.
