Amaravati: In order to attract multi million dollars investments in emerging technologies, the State government is going to organise Fintech Festival (VFF) at Novotel Hotel in Visakhapatnam city from October 22 to 26.
The VFF will also have one million US dollars contest. The government will present awards worth around Rs 7 crore to the winners in this competition in three streams including Agritech, Emergetech and Fintech.
The best ideas from each stream will be selected. First prize winners will be presented prize money of Rs 1 crore. The second prize winners will get Rs 70 lakh. In all, 25 best ideas will be selected for third prize from each stream and each winner will get Rs 7 lakh money, said IT Minister Nara Lokesh at a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
More than 2,000 delegates from across the globe will attend the Fintech Fest. Over 75 international speakers and more than 40 exhibitors including startup ecosystem players will take part.
The State government will conduct road shows ahead of the five-day event in major cities across the globe including Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Tel Aviv Paris, London, Hong Kong and Bengaluru, Lokesh said.
This programme is being organised by the State government in collaboration with SingEx Exhibitions. The festival will bring financial institutions, startups, investors, tech firms and regulators from India and abroad on to a single platform, he explained.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will participate at CXO roundtable conference, scheduled as part of the event. Lokesh informed that the million dollar contest will attract Startups from across the globe to showcase their solutions and get connected with the Indian market.
He hoped that AP will emerge as Fintech hub of the country. The Minister said that so far 600 jobs were created at Fintech Valley in Visakhapatnam. Another 1,000 jobs will be created within couple of months. He said that the best companies and award winners will also start their units at the Fintech Valley.
