Srikakulam: The Congress party leaders appealed to the people to make Bharat bandh on September 10 a grand success.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, District Congress Committee (DCC) president Dola Jaganmohan Rao and Srikakulam segment in-charge Chowdari Sateesh explained that all parties will participate in the bandh to expose failures of BJP led NDA government, including poll promises.
The TDP, YSRCP, CPI, CPM and other parties will take part in the bandh, they said.
The BJP government had failed to control fuel and gas prices. “Our demand is to include fuel in GST purview and reduce its price for the interest of people”.
They lambasted the Central government for the regular hike in fuel price.
Congress leaders Ratnala Narasimhamurthy, Banna Ramu and MA Baig also spoke.
Meanwhile, National secretary of All India National Congress Christopher Tilak alleged that the BJP government was looting the people by raising petrol prices.
Addressing the media here on Saturday, he alleged that the BJP government had failed on all fronts.
The Congress party is calling for nationwide bandh on September 10 to express our displeasure against the NDA government on their failures.
The UPA government never put burden on people”, he said
