Vikas BPEd College retains basketball championship

Vijayawada: Vikas College of Physical Education retains the Krishna University Intercollegiate (KRUI) Basketball Championship consecutively for the second year. KRUI Basketball Tournament was held at DAR College in Nuzvid recently.
About eight colleges participated in the two-day tournament and conducted knockout cum league matches. Vikas College won the first match and defeated Nobel College, Machilipatnam and entered into league.
In league matches, Vikas College won against Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada, PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College, Vijayawada and DAR College, Nuzvidu and secured first place by winning the championship.
The DAR College secretary, Apparao presented championship trophy and medals to the winning team.
Five of the Vikas BPEd College players have been selected for the Krishna University Basketball team which will participate in All India Inter University Basketball championship.
Vikas educational institutions chairman N Narsi Reddy, secretary N Satyanarayana Reddy and Principal Dr S Raju appreciated players and coach Uday Kumar.
