Vijayawada: With the Government of India initiative ‘Operation Mushkan’ and ‘Operation Paree II’ of Odisha State Government, about ten children from Odisha staying at various Child Care Institutions in Krishna district will be handed over to their parents said Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairman BVS Kumar here on Wednesday.

He said that the children were very happy on hearing that they are going to be handed over to their parents soon.

Most of these children were missing children or run away children from Odisha, who were spotted by the Childline or Railway police and were produced before CWC for care and protection of these children.

He said that these children could not tell their residential addresses or contact numbers of their parents, and hence they have been in the Child Care lnstitutions (CCI) for a few weeks.

As part of the Operation Paree Il of the Odisha Government, a Team of police officers and officers from Women and Child Welfare department of Odisha have visited CWCs and CCls here and gathered the children of Odisha and informed the CWC.

The CWC on confirmation of the Team from our Government sources handed over 10 children (6 boys and 4 girls) to the Odisha Team, said Kumar.

The parents or guardians of these children will be traced by the Odisha police and will be restored to their parents through their local Child Welfare Committees.
