Tirupati lads win medals in State-level fencing

Tirupati: Two students P Deeraj Chowdary and K Nikhil Kumar from the pilgrim city won gold and silver medals respectively in state-level fencing ‘CM Cup’ competitions held at Buchireddypalem in Nellore district.
Maheswar Rao, who is the coach for the two students, said in a press release here on Tuesday that by winning the state-level medal in fencing competitions, the two students became eligible to participate in the ‘national fencing’ competitions to be held in Imphal, Manipur, from November 13 to 17.
Rao along with various sport organisations congratulated Deeraj and Nikhil for winning the medal in the state-level fencing event. Dheeraj won gold in fencing competition in Under-17 and Nikhil in Under-14 category.
