Vijayawada: In a bid to boost the IT sector in the state, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will lay foundation stone for the HCL Technologies Development Centre at Kesarapalli village near Gannavaram in Krishna district on Monday.

HCL founder Shiv Nadar and his daughter and CEO of the company Roshni Nadar will participate in the programme. The company would provide employment for 7500 persons by investing Rs 750 crore in two phases.

The company would spend Rs 400 crore in the first phase providing employment for 4000 people. IT Minister Nara Lokesh made efforts to start the HCL unit in Andhra Pradesh.

He invited the HCL Technologies for setting up its centre. The company has worldwide network of (Research and Development) innovation labs and delivery centers in 41 countries. It employs more than 1, 24,000 people.

The HCL Technologies Limited is a global technology company with 40 years of standing in the industry serving customers that include 250 of the Fortune- 500 companies and 650 of the Global 2000 companies.

The HCL Technologies Centre, the first mega IT project in Andhra Pradesh, will in its first phase build an R&D center in an area of about 28 acres of land. This facility will accommodate more than 4000 IT professionals. In the first phase, the company will complete the first building in less than a year.

As each building is completed, HCL will add more IT jobs in the center. The first phase would be completed in seven years’ time, employing more than 4000 IT professionals.

In the second phase, the HCL will start the campus in Amaravati in an extent of 20 acres. The investment for this phase will be Rs 350 crore and to house 3500 IT professionals in five years’ time.
