Civic chief J Nivas inspects sanitation in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Commissioner J Nivas instructed the officers and the field staff to maintain cleanliness and hygiene and provide all facilities to the devotees coming to visit Goddess Durga Temple for the Dasara Navaratri festival.

He ordered the field staff to pick carry bags, waste paper and garbage and keep the premises clean.

As part of the city inspection, the Commissioner visited Prakasam Barriage, Durga Ghat, Padmavathi Ghat, Krishnaveni Ghat, Radham Centre, Sitamma Padalu, Canal Road and surrounding places and observed the sanitation works and gave a few instructions to keep the surroundings clean.

Later, he visited the places where toilets were provided for the devotees and instructed the sanitation staff to keep the premises clean and hygiene and provide water facility at the toilets.

He expressed ire on the officials for not maintaining the surroundings clean and providing cleaning equipment to the staff.

He ordered the officials to provide all facilities and equipment on war footing.

Corporator Chandana Suresh, chief medical officer Arjuna Rao, EE Koteswara DEE Ranga Rao and others were present.
