Akiveedu: Undi MLA VV Sivarama Raju laid foundation stone for 33/11 kv electric sub-station to be coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore at Peda Amiram of Kalla mandal on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that the government was keen to supply quality electricity to people.

Many sub-stations were being constructed to solve low-voltage problem.

The government had set up thousands of transformers to help aqua sector. The farmers used to complain about damaged motors.

Now, with the rural consumers also using more electrical appliances, including air conditioners, the low-voltage problem become a common problem.

The transformers under construction would help overcome load problem.

Clearance was also given for construction of a 220-kv sub-station at Kuppanapudi village of Akiveedu mandal, he added.

Bhimavaram Divisional Engineer V Ramachandra Murthy and others also spoke.
