Vijayawada: Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh said that the Telugu Desam Party would construct its own office buildings for the party district units in all the 13 districts. He performed Bhumi Puja for Krishna district Telugu Desam Party office here on Saturday. Reacting on the allegations of leaders of Opposition parties against him, he challenged them to prove their allegations. He also asked them to show the evidence.

They don’t help victims of Titili cyclone and at the same time they create hurdles to the government not to help them, he said and added that Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy was not consoling the cyclone-affected victims in Srikakulam though he was touring areas in the neighbouring Vizianagaram district. The Opposition leader, who was involved in several cases, was making allegations against him, he averred. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan was criticising the government one week after visiting the cyclone-affected areas, he said. The leaders of the Opposition parties failed to see how Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu along with 15 other Ministers and other higher officials was monitoring the cyclone relief works in Srikakulam district, Lokesh said.

The TDP extended financial help of Rs 60 crore from the party welfare fund to the family members of deceased party workers, he recalled. He said that the TDP workers did not leave the party though the Opposition parties indulged in violence against them and harassed them when the party was in Opposition for 10 years.

He pointed out that the workers are the main strength of the party and added that no party has such a strong support in the country. Former Union Minister Y Sujana Chowdary, Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana, State Assembly Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad, Ministers Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Kollu Ravindra, MLA Gadde Rammohan, MLCs T D Janardhan, Bachula Arjunudu, Buddha Venkanna, ZP chairperson Gadde Anuradha, local corporator Devineni Aparna, former Mayor Panchumarti Anuradha and several other leaders were present.
