Nellore: Rajya Sabha member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy made an appeal to Union Minister Arun Jaitley to sanction a branch of a nationalised bank at Pallipadu in Nellore district. He called on the Union Minister at north block in Delhi on Monday.
He informed Jaitley that he had adopted Pallipadu village under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY). “Mahatma Gandhi had visited Pallipadu village on February 7, 1921 and set up Pinakini Satyagraha Ashram. It is the only Gandhi Ashram in South India,” he stated.
