Vijayawada: City Task Force police nabbed 11-members gang in the city and recovered 10 diamonds valued at Rs.10 lakh. The gang members belonging to Krishna, Guntur, West and East Godavari and Visakhapatnam districts were trying to illegally sell the diamonds in Vijayawada and were caught red handed by the police.
According to Task Force police, some members have purchased these 10 diamonds in Surat and have been trying to sell at very high price in Vijayawada. On a tip off, the police nabbed the members and recovered the diamonds. The gang has no receipts related to the purchase of diamonds in Surat and been trying to sell illegally in the city.
The following are the gang members: Tondepu Srinivasa Rao and Rayana Gurunadam of Vijayawada, Ramesh Chowdary of Rajamahendravaram, Kunukulla Sivasankar of Tanuku, K Manindra Kumar of Kakinada, Pancharti Balasubramanyam of Guntur, Lanka Srinu of Vizag, Modukuri Govind of Nidadavolu, West Godavari, Erra Ganesh of Nallajarla, West Godavari, Sadhanala Ramesh of West Godavari and Ramachandruni Pal of Rajamahendravaram. The police also seized a car and 15 mobile phones and produced the accused in a court in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
