Chittoor team wins Accredited Journalists Trophy

Vijayawada: Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao along with Member of Parliament Gokaraju Gangaraju presented Accredited Journalists of Andhra Pradesh Trophy to the winner of cricket tournament, Chittoor journalists team at Mulapadu ACA stadium near Vijayawada on Sunday.

Earlier, the Chittoor team won the finals against Guntur journalists team by four wickets.

In the final match, Guntur team was elected to bat first and scored 103 runs in 16 overs.

Later, the Chittoor team achieved the target with the loss of six wickets to clinch the trophy.

In another match for the third place of the tournament, East Godavari journalists team defeated Bezawada team by one wicket.

In this match held for the third position, Bezawada journalists selected bat first and scored 94 runs for the loss of five wickets in 14 overs. The East Godavari team achieved the target set by the Bezawada team in 13 overs.

Earlier, in semi-finals, Chittoor team defeated East Godavari team and Guntur team defeated Bezawada team and entered the finals.

The winners of the tournament was given cash prize of Rs 50,000 besides Rs 30,000 to first runner up and Rs 20,000 to second runner up.
