Safety kits distributed to sanitation workers

Guntur: GMC Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar distributed dress and safety kits to the sanitation workers at a programme held at GMC office here on Tuesday.
Speaking on this occasion, he said that sanitation workers were conducting anti-larva operations and there was need to wear safety kits to avoid skin diseases.
He said that taking this into consideration, the GMC was distributing safety kits including gloves, helmets, shoes and face masks as a precautionary measure. He urged the sanitary workers to use dress and kits while spraying chemicals.
He distributed safety kits to 192 workers and instructed the officials to see that safety kits were used regularly.
Later, he went to Gujjanagundla, Amaravati Road and inspected greenery and development works in Guntur city. He instructed the officials to speed up four lane road works at Gujjanagundla in Guntur city.
GMC Additional Commissioner K Ramachandra Reddy and other officials were present.
