Tirupati: TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal launched the distribution of the sacred turmeric (pasupu), vermilion (kunkuma), bangles along with Kankanams to women devotees at the Padmavathi Ammavaru temple premises in Tiruchanur on Tuesday evening on a grand note.
TTD started `Soubhagyam' the distribution of Pasupu, Kunkuma and Kankams programme on the occasion of Brahmotsavams in 2012, under aegis of its Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad. Every year, the tradition is followed during annual Brahmotsavams at Tiruchanur.
Soubhagyam is often described as good fortune to married women. Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar, HDPP Secretary Ramana Prasad, Dy EOs Goutami and Jhansi Rani and other officials were present besides huge number of women devotees
