Ongole: The Armed Forces Flag Day was celebrated in the Prakasam district with rallies and collection of donations for the welfare of army personnel and their families. The district Sainik Welfare Officer M Rajani Kumari started the collection of funds with her donation.
She felicitated the members of ex-servicemen associations from Kanigiri, Giddalur and Ongole and Pragati Vidyalayam at Kanigiri, Guntur Oxford School at Ongole, NextGen International School at Ongole for being top collectors of funds in 2017 and presented them mementoes.
The Lt Col Krupavalli, D Ananda Rao, B Krishna, TV Ramanaiah, SR Zameer Ahmed, DV Ramaiah, S Kasi Reddy, Murali Mohan, Hav Kasaiah, Hav Satnam Singh, NCC cadets and officers from 34 Andhra Battalion and family members of the martyred army personnel participated in the programme.
