Vijayawada: HappyNest, the mega housing project of the AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) in the capital Amaravati, evoked huge response in the second phase of booking on Monday.

In less than two hours, 900 flats were booked online by customers. Predicting heavy rush of customers the CRDA has blocked the road for vehicular traffic near the main office and arranged help desks to help the visiting customers.

Scores of enthusiastic customers arrived at the main office in the early hours and eagerly waited till 9 am for booking flats online. Interestingly, by 10 am, more than 700 flats were booked and by 11 am all were sold, announced the CRDA.

In the first phase, the CRDA sold 300 flats on November 9. The customers had faced inconvenience due to technical problems in the first phase. Keeping in view the previous experience, the CRDA took the initiative and completely updated the software to avoid inconvenience, said CRDA Commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar.

He interacted with the media at the CRDA office and expressed joy over the massive response from the customers. He said the response from the public shows the confidence of the people on CRDA. The CRDA will construct 1200 flats in 14.5 acres and christened the venture as HappyNest. The second phase of booking was held on Monday and all the flats were sold in less than two hours.

The CRDA will construct 2BHK and 3BHK flats in 12 towers. Each tower consists of 19 floors. Plinth area of each flat is between 1225sft and 2750sft and furnished the details of flats and towers online www.happynest.live.

Tummala Padma, an enthusiastic customer, said she was delighted to book a flat on Monday. She was disappointed last month as she could not buy the flat due to technical glitches. ‘I am happy this time I successfully booked the flat,” she added.

Like Padma, several hundreds of aspirants thronged the CRDA main office since morning and tried their luck. The towers are named A to L each consisting of 19 floors. The CRDA has announced the flats will be built as per the Vaastu and with high quality of works.

Speaking to the media in Nellore, Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said the response was huge from people for the second phase online booking of HappyNest flats.

Stating that construction of various housing projects in Amaravati has gained pace, he said Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy was making unnecessary comments on Amaravati.
