Vijayawada: Vempati Kalashetram, Kuchipudi organised a dance ballet ‘Bhamakalapam’ of Koppole Swarna Sri on Wednesday evening at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College here.

‘Bhamakalapam’ by Siddhendra Yogi is a diamond in a jewel necklace of Kuchipudi. In this Bhamakalapam, the introduction of the main character ‘Satyabhama’ will be with an introductory song called ‘pravesa daruvu’.

After viewing this Bhamakalapam dance ballet, it felt that Siddhendra Yogi wanted to popularize this concept and convey message to the world to leave their negative behavior which slow down their way to the salvation.

This Bhamakalapam was more popularized over the globe by the Kuchipudi legend Vedantam Satyanarayana Sarma.

Swarna Sri, who acted as Satyabhama, had training from Chinta Ravi Balakrishna for the last 15 years and she had completed her Engineering in computers and doing Masters in Kuchipudi dance.

Her expressions and apt foot work for the nattuvangam was impressed.

Especially the dance for “Sakunalu manchivaye…” was very much appreciated.

B Haripriya as Krishna also exhibited her talent. Haripriya is also disciple of Chinta Ravi Balakrishna for the last ten years and now she is doing her B Tech.

The dance master and choreographer of this Bhamakalapam, Dr Chinta Ravi Balakrishna, performed as Madhavi and exhibited his skills in both ‘vachakam’ and ‘abhinayam’.

The dance ballet was composed very beautifully.

This was supported by Ch Sudharani with her melodious vocal and instrumentally supported by P Haranatha Sastry (Mrudangam), Palaparthy Anjaneyulu (violin), S Kumara Babu (Flute). Sekhar’s make up brought glow to the show.

Eminent Kuchipudi personalities Pasumarthi Kesava Prasad, Pasumarthi Venkateswara Sarma and Kuravi Subrahmanya Prasad were felicitated by the organization.

The founder and President of the organization Vempati Satya Prasad was also present on the dais.
