Kakinada: Former AP Endowments minister and BJP leader Pydikondala Manikyala Rao alleged that the TD administration did not take proper care in finding out the welfare of missing fishermen due to Phethai cyclone.

Addressing media persons here on Tuesday, the former minister observed that no efforts were made to identify the missing fishermen of Parlova Peta and Dummula Peta in Kakinada area. Six fishermen each in these two boats somehow managed to survive and reached Machilipatnam, he said.

The government neither made any attempt to trace them nor even the search was entrusted to Coast Guard, the former minister observed. The former minister also demanded compensation to farmers who lost standing crops of paddy, banana, cotton and other horticulture crops. Party leaders V.Suryanarayana Raju, Tummala Padmaja, Y Malakondayya and others were present.
