Vijayawada: Ramesh Suman Kumar, Additional Chief Conservator of Forests said that tonnes of plastic waste was collected in the cleaning process of Sea coast.

He was the chief guest of one-day state level dissemination meeting on 'Climate Literacy, and Marine Litter Management of Andhra Pradesh' held here on Friday. The meeting was attended by members of fishermen community and NGOs and Academy of Gandhian Studies.

Speaking to the media Suman Kumar said that awareness programmes and seminars were organised on climate literacy and marine litter management to the people of coastal area and NGOs.

"Climate change due to human fault would bring a trouble in the days to come," he said and added that awareness among people was important to overcome the trouble.

In AP the coastal districts are getting damaged due to the natural disasters like cyclones and heavy rains. it is also noticed that due to heavy rain houses in the coastal region were getting damaged.

This seminar will also cover the self-alert at the time of natural disasters, he added.

He recalled that the plantation like mango and others in the coastal belt was damaged in the recent cyclone Phethai.

He said that awareness should be created among masses right from the schooling to safeguard the climate for the coming generations.
